A Combined Heat & Power (CHP) system will be used at Nido Spitalfields which will run on natural gas to generate electricity on site. Most importantly the system will re-use any wasted heat from the combustion process to provide heat to the boilers at Nido. Thus the system will provide the equivalent of enough electricity for 50 homes and enough energy for the hot water needs of the entire building, however Nido Spitalfield’s Carbon Emissions will be 23% lower having installed the CHP system than without it.
